DIY Marshmallow Snowmen Cupcakes

Source

These snowmen cupcakes are the most adorable DIY I’ve ever seen! I came across them on  FB and fell in love. I actually stared at the pic for what seemed like hours because they were so adorable. I tried to find the source for the collage photo below (the one that caught my eye on FB) but couldn’t. I noticed it’s 2 different ways. One uses frosting for the arms and the other uses pretzels. Both adorable!

Here’s what to do!

Snowmen Cupcakes

You will need:

  • White cupcakes with white frosting
  • Regular marshmallows
  • Jumbo marshmallows
  • Oreos
  • Dark Chocolate Truffles
  • Black Decorating Gel
  • White Cookie Icing
  • Shredded coconut
  • Pretzel sticks
  • Confetti dots
  • Red or green Fruit roll
  • Starburst candy (orange)

Directions:

Snowman Face: Take one regular sized marshmallow and draw a face on it using the black Decorating Gel.

Hat: Pull apart an Oreo. Remove the frosting or use the side without frosting.  Put cookie icing on top of one cookie and place the chocolate truffle on top.

Nose: Take an orange Starburst and cut tiny small triangle shaped slivers. Cut a small slit in the front of the marshmallow and push the nose into the marshmallow.

Body: Cut 1/4 of the jumbo marshmallow off the bottom. Put a dab of the white cookie icing on the back of three confetti dots and attach to front of the body. Stick pretzel sticks into the sides of the jumbo marshmallow for arms or use black icing to draw them.

Scarf: Cut slices of fruit roll 6 inches long and 1/4 inch wide. Use a sharp knife and make 3-4 cuts at each end for the fringe of the scarf

Assemble all together using icing to hold the parts in place.

Finish by sprinkling shredded coconut and sugar around the base. The sugar will give a slight shimmer, making the snow look more real.

Tip: Make sure marshmallows are level so the finished product doesn’t tip.

Not only are these DIY cupcake and marshmallow snowmen adorable, they are delicious to eat!
