Chaga: Awesome Chaga Tea In The Woods

December 28, 2015 By Emily Gammon 4 Comments

Chaga grows on birch trees near my home in northern Maine and is not very attractive, but the health benefits of chaga are extremely attractive.  I have heard it said that we will find in nature what we need to maintain or heal our health.  I’ve also heard that the things that heal us resemble what they’re curing.Chaga [Read more…]

Crockpot Sausage and Bean Supper

November 3, 2015 By Christina Gammon Leave a Comment

Mmmmm! This is another of our favorites from the Sisters Know Best Crockpot Freezer Series. We like it so much because the sausage is actually turkey burger flavored like sausage so it’s healthy and hearty. Get the sausage seasoning recipe here. This Crockpot Sausage and Bean Supper recipe is easy to make, freezes well, and can feed a lot of people. We served it 2 different ways. I opted for it on rice and Bill put his in a wrap. Both were amazing!Crockpot Sausage and Bean Supper [Read more…]

Slow Cooker Salsa Chicken

October 3, 2015 By Christina Gammon 3 Comments

Slow Cooker Salsa Chicken is one of those EASY Crockpot meals in the Sisters Know Best Crockpot Freezer Meal Series. The next time we have it, the family wants to try it as a burrito. I’m happy with it as is on rice… but I will try it with some black beans added in.Slow Cooker Salsa Chicken

Salad in a Mason Jar

September 22, 2015 By Christina Gammon 3 Comments

I know you have seen the post about salads in a mason jar a thousand times already but this one is a little different. I tried the #Salads In A Jar the way others said to and no matter how many days they sat in the jars (1-6), they were still soggy. Even on day 1. I figured I better share how the salads in a jar worked best for me… let me know if you have other tips to make them even better.
