Yum! It doesn’t feel healthy when it tastes so good but it is! This recipe is perfect during harvest time!
I don’t know about you, but we love to go apple picking. There are tons of PYO (pick your own) places near us. It’s so much fun spending a day in the crisp fall air laughing and bonding as a family. As anyone who’s ever been apple picking knows, it’s super easy to pick way more than you actually need. When you get home, you’ve got all these apples and no idea how you’ll use them all.
Since we’re also big on shakes and healthy eating in our house, I came up with this tasty (and healthy) shake recipe to use some of those apples and provide a tasty breakfast or lunch. Sometimes I double it to make enough for me and my new hubby.
Take a look at the ingredients. This shake is packed with protein and dairy. The only sugar is in the protein powder you use and the naturally occurring sugar in the apples. Depending on what type of milk you use, it’s also low in fat. Yum!
