Chewy Fudge Brownies

Thick and chewy, extra chocolatey brownies with options for fun add-ins.

Ingredients
  

  • 4 tablespoons butter melted
  • ½ cup sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ¼ cup flour
  • 3 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
  • ¼ teaspoon instant espresso
  • teaspoon baking powder
  • teaspoon salt

EXTRA ADD-INS:

  • 1 tablespoon chopped nuts optional
  • 1 tablespoons mini-chips white, chocolate, peanut butter, butterscotch, etc.

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (177 degrees C).
  • Lightly butter a 4x6 or a 5x5-inch baking dish.
  • Whisk butter and sugar in a medium-sized mixing bowl.
  • Stir in egg and vanilla.
  • Whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, instant espresso, baking powder, and salt in a small bowl.
  • Pour the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients and stir to combine. Do not overmix.
  • Fold in the nuts or other extras.
  • Pour batter into a greased baking dish (5x5 or 4x6) and bake for 20-25 minutes.
  • Remove from the oven and let cool for 10 minutes.
