Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
Mix breadcrumbs, 1 tablespoon of parmesan cheese, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Set aside.
Melt the butter in a separate medium-sized bowl. Dip the chicken in melted butter, coating it completely.
Dredge the chicken in the breadcrumb mixture, making sure both sides are well coated.
Place the chicken on a small, greased baking sheet and pour the remaining melted butter from the dish over the chicken. Bake 20 minutes. (Chicken won’t be fully cooked.)
Remove chicken from the oven and top with mozzarella cheese and 1 tablespoon of Parmesan cheese.
Return the chicken to the oven and bake for another 5-10 minutes until the chicken is fully cooked (165°F) and cheese is melted and bubbly.
Remove the chicken from the oven and let the chicken rest for 5 minutes.
Place cooked spaghetti and marinara on a plate and top with chicken parmesan. Garnish with chopped parsley.
