Labelle Winery: A Taste of Italy in Amherst, NH

10592625_709250349130272_7007783994271885412_nLast night was a great time with family! Bill’s sister is excellent at finding the best places to try and noticed this gem opened in October of 2012. We didn’t even know Labelle Winery existed until last night and we live right near it! Hooray for new finds and Bill’s sister! We thoroughly enjoyed the Bistro at Labelle Winery in Amherst, NH.

We met at 6:00pm and luckily we had a reservation! The place was busy inside and out. But that didn’t stop them from having a table set up in both locations for us to choose from. Both were appealing to us. The inside gave views of the bar and shelves of wine while the outside gave access to the guitar soloist and gorgeous evening air.


We opted to sit outside and it was a perfect decision. The guitar was quietly sounding in the background, service was prompt and the food was out of this world! We all got something different and not one complaint! I love sharing meals with his family because we truly SHARE the meal, sampling from each other’s dish. MMMMM MMMM!


Fire pit at Labelle Winery in their outdoor seatingOur appetizer was the Labelle Margherita Flatbread Pizza topped with Fresh Tomato, Mozzarella, Roasted Garlic Oil and Fresh Basil. It was the perfect amount of food while we waited for our main course.


I had the Filet of Beef Tartine with French Fries (of course!) and it was delectable! The horseradish had just the right amount of spice and the beef was tender. My favorite part of my meal was the French bread that is “made especially for Labelle”. There was so much flavor with each crunch of the bread. Note to those who want to be quiet or are self conscious: the French bread is very crunchy and loud. While I absolutely loved it, I can see how someone might not enjoy the crunch to it if they were on a first date or a business meeting.


I sampled the cod and it was very good. I’m not a big fan of cod normally, but the light breading on these big pieces of cod, dipped in their special Tarragon Lemon Aioli and Caper Remoulade, was scrumptious. I would have ordered it myself!


As the sun set, they lit the fire pit next to us. It just added to it all! It was an exceptional evening to say the least!


Bill and Chris at Labelle Winery, Amherst, NHEven though all the food was delicious, the music was relaxing and the drinks were tasty, it didn’t compare to the company. I love getting together with the Walsh’s and it’s nice to know they like to get together with us!


It’s so nice they are back from Ireland and we are done traveling out of the country to Canada. Now we can all reconnect for a while. In fact, next month we are planning another trip to the Cape! I can’t wait! We haven’t been anywhere together since we went to Tiverton, Rhode Island.
