Two months until Christmas! Oh, my!! Each year, like most of you, I commit to be “ready” with homemade gifts, fun wrapping ideas, cute decorations…. And yet I find myself scrambling the second week of December. Sometimes I think that’s what the holiday is about — scrambling, doing more than we humanly should, losing sleep, stuffing ourselves on the day, and determining to do “better” next year. This year (famous last words) will be different. The only thing I want scrambling is my omelet!
So here’s my plan and hopefully you find something here for yourself: [Read more…]

These snowmen cupcakes are the most adorable DIY I’ve ever seen! I came across them on FB and fell in love. I actually stared at the pic for what seemed like hours because they were so adorable. I tried to find the source for the collage photo below (the one that caught my eye on FB) but couldn’t. I noticed it’s 2 different ways. One uses frosting for the arms and the other uses pretzels. Both adorable!

I love these peppermint candy DIY Christmas Ornaments! They are fun for all ages, very inexpensive and quick to do. They look great on the Christmas tree, as part of a gift or as a Holiday coaster. Using a sealer like modge podge or polyurethane adds a protective layer so you can use them as a coaster during a holiday party.
Here’s what we did:
I have dry skin and with the cold weather coming, it’s worse. While I love and strongly recommend Aloe Vera for hand eczema, sometimes a girl needs a little more pampering. Shhh, don’t tell, but I am making this for Bill’s mom for Christmas too. I’m going to add it to her basket of goodies! This simple recipe for body scrub should help her dry skin and make a great present! Yay! I love easy DIY Christmas ideas!

My boyfriend’s daughter made these easy DIY paper tissue flowers (aka tissue paper pom-poms) in school and she showed me how to do them using a napkin one day while we were waiting for our lunch. They are such a beautiful idea and easy for anyone to do! What a great Christmas or winter wonderland decoration!
The other night I find the step by step directions for them and beautiful pictures I have to share with you. Tara Dennis did a wonderful job and I hope you enjoy this Christmas decoration idea..

Knitting isn’t a lost art. If you know someone who loves knitting, we have a great diy project for you. This is a great Christmas gift idea for the knitters in your life or you can show everyone you love knitting by hanging this wreath on your front door! If my sister and I didn’t share this blog, I would make it for her as a surprise, but since we share everything and she is the one with all the yarn… well, here you go, Emily! When I first saw it, I thought it was complex and you needed lots and lots of yarn. But when I delved in to it a little deeper, I noticed the Styrofoam balls. Piece of cake!
