This chili recipe is quick to put together as well as tasty and filling. You can use canned ingredients if you’re short on time without affecting the flavor, but it’s more fun to start with dry beans. I like to make it early in the morning in winter and keep it warm on the wood stove. [Read more…]
Sausage Seasoning Recipe
My Crockpot Beans and Sausage meal does not use real sausage. I use turkey and season it like sausage. I wish I could take the credit for it but I can’t. I got it from food.com. The only thing I do different is leave out the fennel seed because I didn’t have any and I don’t care for it. I LOVE THIS.
- 1 1/2 Teaspoons Salt
- 3 1/2 Teaspoons Paprika
- 2/3 Teaspoons Garlic Powder
- 1 Teaspoon Black Pepper
- 1/4 Teaspoon Crushed Red Pepper
- Mix together.
I didn't use fennel seed because I didn't have any and I don't really care for it. If you decide to add it in, use 1/3 teaspoon.
I am new to substitutions and creating my own seasoning blends. Do you have any to share?
