45% of Americans make New Year’s Resolutions and only 8% achieve them. As one year ends and another begins, I appreciate the opportunity to evaluate my goals and create new ones. In the past, I have made resolutions in a traditional manner by outlining a list of how I will exercise more, eat less sugar, meditate every day, etc. This year, I discovered some new methods for setting my intentions. Do you guys remember our giant DIY ice marbles that we made last winter? They are so easy to make and they add such a fun touch to our railing out front. I can’t wait for the weather to get cold enough to do it again. BUT THIS TIME I’m going to have more purpose for them and turn some of them in to bird feeders! What a great idea from Twig and Toadstool! [Read more…]

Mmmmm! This is another of our favorites from the Sisters Know Best Crockpot Freezer Series. We like it so much because the sausage is actually turkey burger flavored like sausage so it’s healthy and hearty. Get the sausage seasoning recipe here. This Crockpot Sausage and Bean Supper recipe is easy to make, freezes well, and can feed a lot of people. We served it 2 different ways. I opted for it on rice and Bill put his in a wrap. Both were amazing! [Read more…]
My Crockpot Beans and Sausage meal does not use real sausage. I use turkey and season it like sausage. I wish I could take the credit for it but I can’t. I got it from food.com. The only thing I do different is leave out the fennel seed because I didn’t have any and I don’t care for it. I LOVE THIS.
I am new to substitutions and creating my own seasoning blends. Do you have any to share?
This slow cooker chicken sausage recipe is extremely healthy because it uses chicken sausage and peppers and onions. Very few ingredients but it produces a wonderful combination of flavors in your mouth. Bill said we definitely keep this one on the Crockpot Freezer Meal Series!
Bill and I had ours completely different and we both loved it! He had his on a sub roll with ketchup, mustard, relish (he’s the condiment king). I had mine with mustard and green tobasco to make it a little spicy.
Do you prefer sweet or spicy?
